SURVEY OF HYGIENE EDUCATION.

A general survey of the work furtheriim education in hygiene was given by Di\ R. J. R. Mccredy at a meeting of the Hawera organisation of the Red Cross Society on Wednesday evening. Dr. Mccredy explained that the scope had been extended. Nurses acted in dual capacities, carrying out school work under the direction of the Health Department and conducting first-aid and hygiene instruction classes under the society. Assistance at the show had been given by Sister Ingles, Mesdames Stevens, Baker and King, Misses Hooper, H. Squire, D. Sheat, A. McKay, T. Tait, B. Ryan, and D. Peterson. A vote of thanks was accorded the workers. A sum of £5 raised at a stall conducted on behalf of the junior Red Cross had been allocated to relief work.
