BOYS’ QUARTETTES PRAISED. The Elthain competitions were continued yesterday afternoon and evening, and again attracted large, appreciative audiences. St. Mary’s (Hawera) Boys’Club No. 1 1 St. Mary’s (Hawera) Boys’Club No. 22 This class was very pleasing from the ' point of view of the audience and it was a sheer delight to see four boys attain- : ing so great a degree of efficiency in the ; playing of musical instruments. In the opinion of th. judge both quartettes were surprisingly good and were much better than he anticipated. If they were 1 a sample of the Hawera boys’ band it ; must be outstanding.
