DISCOVERY OF DRUG
CONSIGNED TO EMBASSY. AFGHAN MINISTER CONCERNED. London, July 11. Consternation reigns in the French Foreign Office, and also in the diplomatic corps, says the Paris correspondent of the Daily Alail, following the discovery that four wooden cases from Germany claimed by Sirdar Nabi Khan, a close friend of ex-King Amanullah —he was formerly the Afghan Minister at Paris and is now Afinister at Aloscow —contained £6OOO worth of heroin and cocaine. <=- The cases were labelled ‘'Second-hand clothing,” and were claimed as part of the “diplomatic valise.” One fell oil a lorry while they were being taken to the Embassy, revealing a white powder which was analysed as heroin.
