SMASH AT LEVEL CROSSING
INQUIRY BY THE CORONER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., July 17. The circumstances surrounding the death of Alfred William Geange, a resident of Feilding, aged 42, who died following a collision between a motorcycle he was riding and a goods train at a level crossing at Feilding, were investigated by the coroner this morning, who returned a verdict that deceased died from a clot of blood lodging in the arteries of the heart as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision.
The collision was an accident. Apparently deceased did not hear the warning whistle of the train, and for an unknown reason failed to see the train approaching. No blame was attached to th© engine-driver.
