DEVELOPING WEST COAST
SOUT-H WESTLAND RESOURCES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 17. A number of settlers in tho Okuru district, South Westland, waited on members of the Government with a request that an item be placed on the Estimates to provide for the erection of a wharf at Jackson's Bay and the completion of the road from Okuru to the port. It was stressed that there was a large area of land awaiting settlement and great timber resources to be exploited. An assurance was given that the matter would be taken into consideration when the Estimates -were prepared, which would be in about six wceka.
