SOCCER FOR SCHOOLBOYS
HEADMASTER’S ALLEGED REFUSAL / __ COMPLAINT BY ASSOCIATION. : By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, July 17. At a meeting of the council of the Football Association, a complaint was received from the South Canterbury Association that a schoolmaster had refused to allow boys to play Soccer. It was decided to refer the. matter to the Timaru Board of Education, following which a deputation should wait on the Ifoard. Mr .Harrison (Takapuna), who is in charge of the arrangements for a visit by *New Zealand schoolboys to Australia, said it was impossible this year. The council decided to send a team next year. The council, in reply to the Referees’ Association, said that under the rules a referee was the sole judge if a double kick was dangerous, and no referee or linesman could officiate who wore glasses. A. Hutton, a Wellington player, was suspended till the end of the season for striking another player.
