ENGLAND SHORT OF WATER

RESULT OF CONTINUED DROUGHT. (British Official Wireless). Rugby, July 14. As a result of the long-continued drought a water shortage in certain parts of the country is feared, notably in some of the -industrial districts of Lancashire and Yorkshire. In .some cases it is stated there is less than a month’s supply. No restrictions have so far been enforced, but an appeal for economy in the use of water is to be issued by the Ministry of Health. Weather prospects are for a continuance of warm, dry weather. Yesterday, when the temperature was 84 degrees Fahrenheit, was the hottest day for 12 months. The London water supply has not so far been seriously affected by the drought.
