CRISIS IN COTTON TRADE
.WAGE REDUCTION NOTIFIED.
GENERAL STOPPAGE EXPECTED.
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received July 14, 6.5 p.m. London, July 13. The cotton employers are posting notices at the mills immediately to tho effect that wages will be reduced 12J per cent, from July 29 and that the mills will open that day at the revised rate.
It is regarded as certain there will be a general stoppage unless the Ministry of Labour intervenes. Half a million workers will be affected.
