During his reply to the House of Commons debate on the Government's foreign policy last night, Mr. Hugh Dalton, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, emphasised the Government’s intention to continue consultation with the Dominions on important questions of foreign policy, and stated he had reason to believe they would not find it difficult to advance four-square with the Dominions along the path of international peace, co-operation and constructive understanding. Referring to the optional clause regarding the International Court, he said the Government was pledged to sign it, and the only question in doubt wap how soon it would be able to do so, and what reservations, if any, after consultation with the Dominions it would attach to the signature.
