WINTER FEED ASSURED. The cattle market continues to be very brisk and good business is being done with all classes of cattle. The outlook in regard to feed for the winter is promising, many back-oountry farmers being in the happy position of having grass going to waste. The autumn has been exceptionally mild and a good growth of grass is still in evidence. In consequence the forward class of cattle has been selling freely. Recent quotations are: Fat cows, £7 4s to £7 15s; forward cows, £4 2s 6d to £5 ss; etore cows, £3 to £3 IBs; weaner heifers, good quality, £4 5s to £5; . mixed coloured lots, £2 16s to £3 2 s. The demand for sheep Is well sustain-, ed and it is difficult to satisfy all inquiries. Recent sales have been made at the following prices: Mixed sex iambs, up to 23s fid for good lines, with smaller lambs about 17s; ewes in lamb, up to 31s fid for assorted lots. Wethers have been unprocurable for the past/ week.
