Following investigations into the breaking of pcnny-in-the-slot gas meters at the Domain, two constables kept vigil there, the outcome being that at midnight they arrested a youth aged 15 returning to obtain a swag hidden in the pavilion. Questioning revealed that the lad had broken into a workmen’s camp at Rakaia, stealing a number of articles from the huts, including suitcases with clothes. When arrested the lad had a bundle containing a blanket, two overcoats and other articles which the police discovered had been stolen from two local premises last evening.
