ELTHAM ITEMS
Those present at an afternoon given by Mrs. C. A. Wilkinson on Friday week, were: Mesdames Weir Senior, J. L. Weir, Thompson, Guy Cooper, Syme, Carman, McGarry and Tiplady.
Miss Blair, of Scotland, who is at present making a tour of New Zealand, io the guest of Mrs. Crawford.
Mrs. E. E. Carter has returned from Hawera.
Mrs. F. R, McWilliam, of Waverley, lias been spending a few days in Eltham.
Mrs. J. L. Campbell was the hostess nt an afternoon on Monday, those present among the guests being Lady Carncross, Mrs. J. R. M. Stewart, Mrs. Guy Cooper, Mrs. Jim Best, Mrs. Jack Campbell, Mrs. Riddell, Miss Carncross and Miss Riddell.
Mrs. C. N. Taplin has returned from New Plymouth.
Mrs. H. G. Carman is spending a holiday with friends in Hamilton and the surrounding district.
Miss Joan Hawken, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. Guy Cooper during her stav in Eltham. # • • •
Mrs. D. Syme, who is spending a holiday in Wanganui, is expected to return at the beginning of the week.
The Rev. C. H. Isaacson and Mrs. Isaacson, accompanied by Miss May Coodall, motored through to their new home in Otaki on Tuesday.
Those present at an afternoon given by Mrs. Weir senior on Monday were: Mesdames Saunders Dunedin), Chrystal, Crawford, A. A. Stewart, J. L. Weir, H. P Best, Tiplady; Misses Saunders (Dunedin) and Blair.
Miss Wray Carter was hostess at a small bridge evening on Tuesday.
Mrs. D. McCready was hostess at an afternoon on Wednesday.
Among the guests present at an afternoon given by Mrs. Guy Cooper on Wednesday were: Mesdames Tiplady, McWilliam, Fallows, Thompson, C. Horrocks, Taplin, Gover; Misses Hooper and Hawken (Wellington).
