LOANS FOR LOCAL BODIES
SANCTIONS BY THE BOARD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board, 47 applications from local authorities for loans totalling £1,433,635 were dealt with. Thirtythree new loans totalling £’652,275, including seven for £15,250 for unemployment relief works, and seven renewal loans for £398,660 were sanctioned. Loans and portions of loans totalling £352,375 were deferred pending further inquiries, and sanctions for £30,325 were declined.
