Received Oct. 17, 1.15 a.m. Perth, Oct. 16, A fierce battle between rival tribes of aboriginals on the Plain in the far north-west occurred when a quarrel developed between two members of rival factions over the possession of a lubra. A trial of strength and skill between the two mon to decide whom should possess her failed to reach a decisive result and then the two tribes commenced to fight.
Flights of spears were hurled through the air and one .was killed and many seriously wounded before the melee ended. Police later arrived on the scene but were unable to gain any information, as the members of the warring tribes had taken to the bush.
