£44,610 COLLECTED THIS YEAR. MAY FIGURES SHOW INCREASE. Customs duties collected at the port of New Plymouth during May amounted to £8507 15s Id, showing an increase of £B4B 0s 2d compared with the corresponding month last year. There was a decrease of £43 Us in the excise duty collected on beer. Details are as " How:—
Revenue collected on dutiable importations for the first five months of this year shows a decrease of £6809 12s 4d compared with the correspondi.ig period in 1926. Excise duty received during the same period amounted to £640 8s lOd, compared with £BOB 9s 5d in 1926, a decrease of £l3B 0s 7d. Details of the Customs revenue are: —■
