RIFLE SHOOTING.
NEW PLYMOUTH ACTIVITIES. The -team to represent the New Plymouth Rifle Club against Patea will be: President, Higgs, Deputy-President Taylor, Rifleman Turnbull, Marett, McGahey, George, Ramson, Hobbs and Clarke. The ranges for the competition are 300. 500 and 600 yards. The New Plymouth Club’s team to fire the friendly match with Okato at New Plymouth will be selected from’ the following:—Riflemen Arnold, Pearson, McArtney, Innes, S. Hartnell, Innes, Robert-, son, Maddock, Gorringe, McKenzie (2), Watts and Ashley. It will hardly be possible for Okato to bring a team so strong numerically, so a practice target will be available for any surplus there may be. The distances will be 800 and 900 yards. Entries are beginning to come in for the Taranaki Rifle Association’s forthcoming meeting at Easter; the early ones are as usual from far afield; for the first time for many years there a.\e some from Auckland.
