COMMUNISTS IN POLAND

DISTURBANCE OUTSIDE GAOL. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 13, 5.5 p.m. London, Dee. 12. News from Vilna states that following upon permission granted to Messrs. Shepherd and J. Beckett, Labour members of the House of Commons, to visit Polish prisons, large crowds, led by Communist members of the Diet, rioted outside Vilna prison. They attempted to force an entry and attacked the police reserves. Frequent charges by mounted men restored order, and many arrests were made. Polish Government circles express the opinion that the local Communists were taking advantage of the visit of Labour members of the House of Commons to organise demonstrations.
