ELTHAM NEWS.
VISIT OF CHIEF JUSTICE. The Eltham people were much pleased with the courtesy shown by His Honour the Chief Justice in agreeing to hold the Compensation Court in their town. It was a great convenience to all concerned, minimised the cost and facilitated speedy despatch of the business. At the luncheon adjournment His Honour and his associate, the registrar, visiting members of the bar and all the local legal gentlemen were entertained at lunch by Sir Walter Carucross, Speaker of the Legislative Council, in the Central Hotel. After lunch a pleasant half-hour was spent in the lounge, affording an opportunity for introductions -to His Honour. The luncheon was set out in Host Casey’s best style.
