SUPREME COURT SENTENCES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 2. Prisoners were sentenced by Mr. Justice McGregor in the Supreme Court as follow:—■ John Hepry Wall, rape, ten years' hard labour and a flogging of fourteen strokes. His Honour said that respectable women had to be protected from men of the prisoner’s type. Leslie Johnson, false pretences, fined £5O, £25 to be paid within a month and the remainder within two months; in default, nine months’ imprisonment; and two years’ probation on a forgery count. Dunedin, Nov- 2. In the Supreme Court prisoners were sentenced as follow:Philip John Edward Hancock, breaking, entering and theft by night, five years’ probation; Thomas William Robinson, three charges of breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, fined £25; Henry Alfred Mitchell, indecent assault, three months in gaol.
