South Taranaki experienced a steady downpour of rain throughout the whole day to-day, and all outdoor half-holiday sports were abandoned. Although the warm rainfall must prove of very great value to the pastures, and prolong the prolific early summer growth, it has caused consider.able inconvenience to the many farmers who are in the midst of hay-making operations. MISCELLANEOUS NEWS. No further sitting of the Magistrate’s Court will be held at Hawera before Christmas. Mr. R. He-ward, agricultural and science instructor at the Haweia Technical High School, has received word that he has been successful m obtaining his B.Ag. degree. Mr. Reward an ex-student of Lincoln College.
