AUTUMN FLOWER SHOW. A COMBINED EFFORT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Waitara, Dec. 17. The joint committees of the Plunket and Red Cross Society held a meeting on Tuesday evening to discuss ways and means of raising funds to carry on foi the ensuing year. After discussion an autumn flower show was decided upon, to be held on February 26 and 27 next. The proceeds are to be equally divided between the two societies.

The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. J. C. Rolleston, M.P.; president, Rev. G. H. Gavin: vice-presi-dents, Drs. Adamson and Barclay. Rev. Gosnell,. Messrs. Kedgley, P. J. Allen, R. Morgan, A. W. Ogle; auditor, Mr. C. H. Tate; committee, members of both committees of the societies, with the addition of Mr. and Mrs. W. Nosworthy, Mr. and Mrs. G. Lyall, Mr. and Mrs. Radford, Mrs. J. R. Bennett, Mrs. H. Brabant, Mrs. W. R. Johns, Mrs. Lund, Mrs. L. Rattenbury. Miss Rita Elliot; joint secretaries and treasurers, Mr. and Mrs Ivor Prichard. SWIMMING CLUB FORMED.

A meeting for the purpose of reforming the Waitara Swimming Club was held on Monday evening, there being a good attendance. Mr. G. Lyall occupied the chair.

It was decided to re-form the club, and the following officers were elected: President, -Mr. A. W. Ogle; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. R. Tate, G. A. Lyall and T. Fowler; committee, Messrs. J. Ogle, C. Tate, G. Haynes, A. McGregor, A. Rowe, H. A. Leviston and A. .Vebb; club captain, Mr. C. Tate; vice-captain, Mr. J. Ogle; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Ivor Prichard.

It was decided that the subscription be 2s 6d, and that a united effort be made to secure more active members. The matter of securing club monograms was left in the hands of the club captain.

INTEREST IN CRICKET. The outcome of the cricket match last Saturday between Amflents and Moderns has warmed the enthusiasm of those who swing the willow. The executive has accordingly made arrangements for a return match between Ancients and Moderns, and matches with Freezing Works, Tikorangi and Urenui, with others to follow. Members are requested to attend the practices.
