The Rev. E. Palgrave Davy is well known to the young 1 people of New Plymouth. He is now paying his fifth visit to this town, the last being in 1921. Yesterday he preached in the morning in the Whiteley Memorial Church, and in the evening at the Sunday School anniversary service in the Baptist Tabernacle. This evening there will be a united meeting in the Whiteley Hall at seven o'clock, when Mr. Davy will commence a series of talks on John Bunyan's Holy War. They will be continued in the Baptist Tabernacle each evening till Friday. In the afternoons, commencing to-day, he will give addresses on the Pilgrim’s Progress in the Fitzroy Methodist Church at 3.30. Adult friends are invited to all the gatherings. 'Since his last - visit Mr. Davy has lectured to children throughout Canada and in many parts of England, and has also published a revised Pilgrim’s Progress with"' a glowing introduction “by Arthur Mee, editor of My Magazine.
A continuation sale-of 14;000 feet of sawn timber, to take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m., is advertised by Webster Bros, in this issue.
