UNREST IN INDIA.
CASUALTIES LN LUCKNOW. By Telegraph.—Press Asen—Copyright Delhi, Sept. 25. Nine were killed and over a hundred injured in a suburb of Lucknow a* the result of trouble between Hindus and Mohammedans. A big Mohammedan nioib attacked the railway station, mercilessly maltreating all Hindus they met, and also damaging a motor-car in which was seated a prominent British official of the Civil »Service.
Gandhi in a statement deplored the appalling communal animosity and reaffirmed his decision to continue Iris twenty-one days’ fast as an expiatory prayer.
