SOME OF THE PROPOSALS. HANDLING OF FOODSTUFFS 0Y STATE. By Telegraph--Press Assn.—Copyright London, Sept. 25. 1 C’-ons'ideration of the scheme for the bulk purchase and transport of the principal commodities by the Government, also the distribution of foodstuffs and other ho-uaehold supplies by the municipalitie* and co-operative societies/ is one of the chief proposals the labour Party executive ie submitting to the annual Labour conference on October 7. The proposal also includes the standardising, grading and marking of all i commodities, where practicable, according to quality and condition, with a view to enforcing standards and prices. If the conference carries the proposal it will become a plank in the party's platform, to which the Cabinet will be committed.
Other executive proposals are the nationaliaatftpn of the mine* at the earliest possible date, a national scheme for electric po*wer, 'based on public ownership and control, and increased payment of the unemployed.
