MAGISTRATE’S COURT. (From Our Own Reporter.) Hawera, Nov. 26. A small list of business, which included no criminal cases, wrs submitted to the last sitting of the Manaia court for this year, which was held to-day. The magistrate, Mr. A. M. Mowlem. S. M., congratulated Constable J. Scannell or. the entire absence of criminal work. Orders were made in the following judgment summons cases:— . Tauina Hepa, at the suit or T. W. Dill, was ordered to pay O 7s 7d within fourteen days, in default six days’ imprisonment. James Hodge waa ordered to pay the Kaupokonui Dairy Co. £ll2 Is Bd. with costs £1 Is, forthwith, in default 12 days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended if the debtor pays £5 within fourteen days and the balance within 28 days. Tommy Tutawa was ordered to pay Percy Merrie £l6 os 6d, with costa £1 Is, forthw’ith, in default 16 days’ imprisonment, the w? ant to be suspended if the judgment debtor pays £7 10s within 14 days and the balance within 28 days. The same judgment debtor was also ordered to pay A. C. T. Smith £7 5a fid forthwith, in default seven days imprisonment, the warrant to he suspended for two months after the service of the order. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil cases:—Commissioner of Taxes v. D. Meyer, £1 4s od (costs 14s); Commissioner of Taxes v. A. E. King, £l7 17s 9d (costs £1 Ms).
