PORT AUCKLAND RETURNS.

ONLY FEW DAYS’ DELAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 7. The Commonwealth and Dominion liner Port Auckland, which sailed from Lyttelton for London, via Las Palmas, on June 20, loaded with 7000 tons of general cargo, zinc concentrates, and wool, and six passengers, put back when 1700 miles out. She berthed at Wellington at 9 o’clock this morning for examination and repairs, if necessary. The ship ran into exceptionally heavy easterly gales. The extent of the damage, if any, is now being ascertained by survey. The manager of the company states that he does not anticipate more than a few days’ delay in Willington.
