VITAL STATISTICS.
INCREASE OF BIRTHS & DEATHS The vital statistics recorded at the office of the registrar of births, deaths and marriages at New Plymouth during April reveal a net increase in population from natural causes of 20, th’ births having exceeded the deaths byM that number. Marriages were fewer by' two as compared with the corresponding month last year, but the number of deaths showed a big increase. Of the 18 deaths recorded, eight were those of septuagenarians, and one an octogenarian of 85 years. Following are details, with the figures for April, 1922: 1923. 1922. Births 38 .
