AMERICAN PATROL BOAT.
ARRIVES AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The United States naval patrol boat Ontario arrived from Pago Pago this morning and anchored in the stream. She will dock to-morrow morning foi overhaul, remaining here till May 20. In addition to her crew, the Ontario carries 75 liberty men. An official landing and a civic reception to Captain Pollock, Governor oi American Samoa, who arrived by her, takes place to-morrow morning. During America’s participation in the war. the Ontario was first engaged in escorting submarine-chasers to the Azores, West Indies, and other places. She then acted as tender to chasers. in the Irish Channel until the armistice. Subsequently, for eight months, she was engaged escorting chasers to America.
