SALE OF MR. F. J. JOHNSTON'S HERD. There was a large attendance, including prospective buyers from as fa* afield as Masterton, Palmerston North, AVaitara, and other parts of Northern Taranaki, at the clearing sale conducted by Messrs. Gillies and Nalder, in conjunction with Mr. Newton King, on account of Mr. F. J. Johnston at flawcra, on AVednesday. The cattle were in poor condition, and, consequently, not looking at .their best. Mr. A. W. Gillies wielded the hammer when the pedigree Holstein cattle came under offer, and the various lota submitted, which included a number of show prize takers, were sold as follows: Bull, Sir Beau De Kohl (Sir Do Kol Inks, Pieterje—Rozone's Beauty, C>'/ 2 years), 50 guineas, Mr. John ' Gould, Apiti, Feilding.
