PERSONAL.
Mr. W. Mulloy, of the New Plymouth branch of the Bank of New South Wales, will leave to-morrow under transfer to Hawera. Mr. Talboys, tramways engineer to th« Wanganui Borough Council, was in New Plymouth yesterday. In the afternoon he inspected the borough electric light works. The Wellington Diocesan Synod last night elected the following to represent the Synod on the General Synod:— Clergy—Archdeacon A. M. Johnson' ami the Rev. A. S. Innes Jones; laitj - ' — Messrs. T. F. Martin, J. W. Birch, R. Wiiberfoss, and J. W. Henderson. According to letters just received in Auckland the marriage of Maggie Papakura, the guide, to Mr. Staples-Brown, of 14, Harrington Gardens. London, S.W., and Oxfordshire, took place in London on June 14th. It is more than probable that Mr. and Mrs. Staples-Brown wilt come out to New Zealand and take up their residence in Auckland.
