DAILY MAIL RACE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, July 25. To-day's flight from Edinburgh in the Daily Mail race resolved itself into a contest between Vedrines and Beaumont, who have reached Carlisle via Stirling. Other aviators are hopelessly in the rear through various machine mishaps. Beaumont made a magnificent flight, and reached Manchester half an hour before Vedrines. FATALITY IN RUSSIA. St. Petersburg, July 25. Shisharenko, with a passenger, while flying in the St Petersburg-Moscow race, fell at Tearkoe Selo, the passenger being killed and the aviator's leg broken. BEAUMONT LEADING. Received 27, 12.5 a.m. London, July 26. Beaumont left Edinburgh at 3.10 o'clock this morning, and arrived at Bristol at 8.37 this evening. Vedrines left at 3.25 o'clock, and arrived at 9 o'clock, but landed half a mile from the Aerodrome, which was reached at 10.10.
Beaumont is now leading by 05 mjnutes.
