SAUNDERS' PICTURES.

'Whiteley Hall was crowded last night, when the programme submitted on Saturday was again shown. The crowded hall and the applause at the conclusion of each item shows that this change has proved gratifying to the public, who always anticipate with much keenness the excellent changes which, from experience they have learnt to expect from Mr. >S)aunders. The scientific film, "Liquid Air," showed the propertics'of the different constituents of the atmosphere, and also showed what can be done by liquified air. To be liquified, air has to be reduced to 140 degrees below zero, and submitted to a pressure of 40 atmospheres. Tn about fifteen minutes' practical illustration .by these pictures, one obtained a better grasp of the subject that could have been received from hours of lecture. The manufacture of "standard bread' was closely from the delivery of flour to the establishment right up to its delivery as bread to the customer per medium of the baker's cart. The amount of machinery employed in an up-to-date establishment caused surprise. The "Cascades of Liri" was a pretty scene, remarkable for its beautiful water effects. The star dramas are all exceptionally good. The subjects chosen are very enthralling and vividly enacted. They are "The Son of Old Glory," "Ransomed," and scenes from one of Shakespeare's well-known plays, "King Lear." "The Romance of Bar 0 Ranch" gives a fine glimpse of American out-back life. The star comedy is "Three Men and a Maid," whilst the comics, "Foolshead at a Cockfight," "Swank Buys a Motor Bike," "A Sufferer from Insomnia," ocxmplete a programme that should further enhance the reputation that Mr. Saunders has among the picture-loving public. Tills programme will be repeated torn'ght in Whiteley Kail. Owing to the '"Dutch Fair" that is being held on Wednesdy, Thursday and Friday (these dates having 'ieen booked months ago) pictures I will not be shown in the Hall after toj night until Saturday, when the usual tnatir ' will open with a complete chang". On Wednesday and Thursday Mr. S Minders will show in St. John's Hall, Waitara, at town prizes, viz., Is and 6d.

He is followed by Moustache. The young man yields to temptation, and, in spite of the importance of his errand, indulges "not wisely, but too well" with some of his comrades. He loses the bag containing the necklet, and the dog vainly endeavors to draw his attention to the fact. At last the young man, who is completely intoxicated, draws his revolver and shoots at the dog. In spite of being severely wounded, the faithful creature keeps guard over the bag, until at last the employee, who had by that time had become sober, retracing his steps, is through tie dog's fidelity again placed in possession of the precious necklet.
