The Government railway polity has been announced. It includes lines to' tap agricultural centres in various parts of the State, and provision in connection with the New South Wales l standard' gauge railway if it is brought to the border. Before the Shortage of Labor Commission the Assistant Government Architect gave evidence that a number of large public works were delayed owing to scarcity of labor.

Brisbane, July 20. In the Assembly Mr. Crawford, member for Pitzrov, announced that lie had been expelled ifrom the Labor Party because of his attitude in supporting the Religious Instruction Bill.
