A sentry at Tipnor powder magazine, Gosport, at night time challenged the occupants' oi a boat and ordered them not to approach. Two landed and, despite a further challenge, approached the magazine. The sentry fired at one of the figures who was crouching in the tfhadow of the building, whereupon both disappeared in the boat. There is no clue to tlheir identity.
