POLICE SERGEANTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. It ihas been definitely decided to abolish the rank of station-sergeant in t!he police force and to substitute for it the rank of senior sergeant. The four present .station sergeants—Sergeant King (Dunedin), Johnston (Oliristchurcli), Darby (Wellington), and Treanor (Ant-Hand) —will in future be senior sergeants, and the following have been appointed to the same rank: —Sergeants Stagpoole (Oamaru), Bourke (W'anganui), Haddrc]] (New Plymouth), Fouhy (Ashlmrton), Remer (Sydenham), Mackinnon (Wai'hi), Ryan (Lytteliton), Rutledige (Mount Cook), Mathieson (Wellington South), and Dart (New Plymouth).
