OLD LADY FATALLY BURNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. Catherine Lundy, a widow, 80 years of age, who was living with an unmarried daughter in rooms in Drununond street, was found lying dead on the fender in front of the fire yesterday afternoon. Her clothing was smouldering, and her back terribly burned. Her daughter was away at work, and the discovery was made when the landlady went into the room to place coal on the fire.

A MAN MISSING. Wanga/nui, Last Night. A young man, Walter Hartcher, aged 23 or 24, disappeared from his home early this morning. His hat was found on the river bank. He was last seen at 11 o'clock on' the previous evening, when he went to bed. The missing man had not been well lately. His sister resides here, but the family is said to reside in Nelson and other relations in Sydney.
