London, April 6. It is asserted in diplomatic circles that Great Britain, as recently as Monday, reiterated to France the opinion that precipitate action should not be taken. Therefore the French advance surprised the British Government, and has resulted in an extremely delicate, if not serious, situation among the Allies. . Mr Llcyd George is curtailing his holiday in Wales, and is returning to London to-morrow.
