Weltfngton, July 25. At the Supreme Court, a * youili •named Arthur Edward Smoothly,' wiio pleaded guilty at Eketahuna to a charge of attempted carnal knowledge of a litle girl, was sentenced to throo years' reformative, treatment. William Alfred Robert Russell, on seven charges of breaking and er-teri^ and theft, one of breaking and enterwith intent, and four of forgery, was sentenced <to reformative treatment for a period not exeoodino- three years.
