Wellington, Oct. 15. . The Hon. G. W. Russell says thatm the event of vessels arriving-"in. NewZealand from Cape Colony ports every can* will be taken to protect the health of the people here against the introduction of virulent influenza.
_The Auckland Waterside Workers' Union protested against the berthing at the Queen street wharf, Auckland, of an overseas vessel on which a deathhad occurred. Mr Russell, in his reply, said that the placing of the vessel in quarantine would not have been justified. ■
