, Auckland, Oct. 15. Iho undmg of the Court regarding the loss of the Wimmera held that £Te facts were consistent with an explosion of a moored mine; that tho vessel was travelling m 50 fathoms of water, and. through a mine-field laid by the enemy for ether mines had been found in the ; vicinityj and that there was no room for doubt that the vessel struck a mine The Court added: "Notwithstanding the warnings issued to Captain Kelt on October 10th, 1917, and on November 2nd, 1917, it is apparently impossibleto come to any other conclusion than that the loss of the ship was due to his neglect. The fact that the captain re^ mamed with his ship to the last, and gave his life, was in accord with tho best traditions of the British mercantile marine."
