London, Dec. '14. Lord Lansdowne, replying to correspondents, declares that he is ready to defend the statements in his letter.
Lord Lansdowne denies that ho suggested ignominious surrender or desired to see the abandonment of our naval supremacy, or that he would be content with an international compact? in which the only securities would be tho word or signature of a German Minister.
