BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.

The fifth-seventh anniversary of tho Nelson Baptist Sunday School was celebrated yesterday, three services being held in tho Sctool of Music. The morning service was conducted by the Rev. John Laird. The liev. Frank Gldricve addressed the afternoon gathering, basing his remarks on the words, "Let your KgL\t shine." He illustrated Jais address by relating many personal incidents in connection with his work in Africa and India,, and sustained the interest of the children. Tho evening service was conducted by the Rev. Mr Laird, who delivered a pmverful sermon from the words, "Is it well with the child?" During his address he made a stirring appeal to the parents. (1) to teach their boys and girls to put a Ugh! value upon themselves; (2) to impress them with a great and manly courage; (3) to impress them with high ideals of life and conduct. There were largo congregations at each service, and in the evening every available seat was occupied. Tie singing of tho scholars was a feature of the festival. Mr A. B- Emmett conducted, and Miss J>. Robertson was at the: organ, which greatly added to the success of the musical nortion of the iservices. The platform was taste-fully-decorated with -arums' and evergreen<!. During the afternoon service the children attending the''infant section of the school were presented with prizes. ' ' .
