CHRIST CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOLLS.

■The annual prize-giving for Christ Church Sunday' Schools ..took place in the Parish Hall, She! bourne street, yesterday evening. ■ The ceremony was preceded by a bright little tntertain- ! ment, opening with a hymn. The pro-; gramme was as „ follows:—Pianoforte solo, Margaret Terriss; songs, Ngjaire LPagOj'H. Blechynden (and chorus of (boys), and Dr. Weeks; vocal duefc, j Ngaire Page and Cedric Terriss ; recitajtions, Margrarot Terriss, Sheila Cliappell, Helen Harrison, Vera Thoana.s. Eva Brown, T. Preston, and C. Terris.. The superintendent (Mr W .Thompson), speaking of the year's work, said a great change had been made by the introduction of the reformed system under the seadership of Miss Moore. A i separate l.jndergarten school, bad been established. This had a roll of 67, a«d there were 70 cbrldren enrolled at ShelJrmrne street, making a total of 137. There were also 40 children on the roll of the Wood School, under Miss Scaly. The senior girls' Bible class had been renewed, and the senior boys' class had tho benefit of the guidance of Bishop Mules. Chair j'' required for'~the new system of Sunday school instruction in small classes bad hcon intade by tho lady tiM<>hers, who had been helped in this work by some of the bigger boys.
