A BRILLIANT GALLOPER

Desert Gold continued her unbeaten three-year-old record .by appropriating the Great Northern Derby (says the "Sim"'). From a time point of view her achievement of running the mile an<t a half in 2min 32 2-ssec was a remarkable one and quite sets the seal on her reputation as a brilliant galloper and genuine stayer. The Derby win increases Desert Gold's stake winnings to €4650, and as she has several races apparently^ at her mercy, it looks almost certain that she will eclipse Reputation's three-year-old record "of £4690.
