CONCESSION BY CANADA

I'ismnn Press Association.j

: Wellington, April 6. Speaking on the question of the- Imperial meat supply, Mr Massey informed a reporter that the Canadian Government, on his representations, had been good enough to allow the steamer Rangatira, dys shortly,.in New Zealand from Montreal .via Australia, to load •outward cargo at Auckland, and at a few ports on the way down the coast of New Zealand. The Ilangatira is one of the steamers engaged in the trade between the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, for which'service a isubsidy is paid by the Canadian Government. The assent to the Premier's representations will have the effect of relieving the pressure on the free-zing works at Auck land and other ports.
