LICENSING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

MODERATE TICKET IN THE LEAD.

Although two tickets were nominated comparatively little interest was taken in tho election of the Licensing Committee for the district of Neison whvh took place yesterday, and ilia falling was light as compared with, previous elections. The weather was perfect, and voters had no excuse for the lack of interest displayed. Tbe AtottaMte candidates were Messrs P. Best, W IV. Franklyn, J. O. Mercer- ariS E. S3. <

Trask, and with the exception of Mr Mercer, they were members of the old committee. The No License League candidates were Messrs F. A. Carlisle, P. G. Gibbs, T. Pettit, and R. Watson, Mr Pettit being a member of the old committee. The returns received last evening show that the Moderate candidates, Messrs Best, Franklyn, Mercer and Trask are leading, with Mr Pettit next on the list. (From "The Colonist," March 11.)
