Mr C. Richmond Fell was last ni.^ht elected 'as president of the Nelson Chamber of Commerce. Reference was made by other members at the meeting to the fact1 that the position had boen filled with distinction by both bis father and his grandfather.
At a largely-attended meeting in the Baptist Church last night, Mr A. B. Emmett, who is about to make a visit to the OH Country, was wished Godepeed. The Rev. W. E. Lambert and Messrs T. Pettit, G. A. Edmonds, Drake and John Nicol (Wellington) spoke, and appreciative reference was made to Mr Emmett's work for the Church. During the evening the Misses Wagstaff sang a duet. Mr Emmett is taking with him his son, m the hope that his health will benefit by his escaping the coming winter in. New Zealand.
