Mr I/. Ellis, Motupipi, had a narrow escape from death one day last week (says the "Golden Bay Timos"). By mistake he swallowed a small quantity of rackarock (or merbaine) oil. Medical aid was summoned at once, and tlie patient, though not yet entirely outi of danger, is now on the road to recovery. A similar case to the f.bovo occurred some years ago in the same locality, the victim —a well-known local resident —flying some three hours after taking the fatal dose, which he swallowed by accident.
