The weather was fine and there was a large attendance at the A.J.C. races to-day. The results were as follows:--Shorts Handicap: Gigandra 1, Tatterley 2, Speedfast 3. Twelve starters. Won after a great race by half a length. Time, 1.13*. Clibborn Stakes: Garlin 1, Van Biene 2, Carlita 3. • Eight starters. Won easily by four lengths. Time, 1.53£. Metropolitan Handicap: St. Spasa 1, Psyttyx 2, St. Carwyne 3.' Twenty-five started. Psyttyx, Miss Mooltan, and Royal Laddie were the quickest to move. Royal Laddie led at the mile, but at the half mile Posinatus was in front of Moonbria and St. Spasa. The latter was first into the straight. Psyttyx made a great effort to overhaul, but failed by a neck, St. Carwyne half a length further back. Time, 2.33. Steeplechase: Toronte 1, Zoeholme 2, Don Q3. Ten starters. Forest Prince fell. Won by six lengths. Time, 5.27|. Breeders' Plate: Delmonte 1, Cetigne 2, Starland 3. Twenty-nine started. Won by a neck. Squatters' Handicap: Chid 1, Willow Green 2, Firm 3. Twelve starters. Won by half a length. Time, 2.7|. (Received Oct. 6, 0.30 a.m.)

Sydney, Oct. 5. Delmonte's victory in the Breeders' Plate made Mr Watt's third win in two days. McLachlan rode with fine judgment and fought out a great finish. Mr Watt paid 760 guineas for Delmonte at the. last Easter sales.

The stewards fined Manning, the rider of Tatterley in the Shorts Handicap, £5 for allowing his mount to break the barrier.
