SWIMMING.
The swimming matches took place in the College baths, and evoked considerable, enthusiasm among the spectators. The fifty yards race was swum in two heats, the three placed swimmers in each heat competing in the final, which was won by Condell (old boys), Coote (old boys) being second, and Hamilton (present boys) third. Four teams competed in the relay race, two representing old boys and two present 'boys. After an exciting race old boys finished in first and second places. The winning team comprised Clark, Coote, Condell, Liddle, and the second team Gilbert, Allen, Harley and Snodgrass. The College teams were: Hamilton, Te Tau, Watson, Hudson ; Young, Bennett Richmond and Wilson. Some of the competitors also gave an exhibition of fancy diring.
